Wandering through a local outlet store I spotted an unusual pirate themed game called "Dread Pirate" that caught my attention. I have always had a great imagination and was captivated by the idea of being a pirate searching for buried treasure as captain of my own vessel sailing for adventure. I asked my sweet wife if I might get this rather expensive game as my birthday gift? She said yes, and I said YESSSS. The game itself though well presented, did not live up to my expectations, so I set out to improve it without success. I decided to start fresh with my own creation. I kept what I liked in my new game and removed what I did not like
After more than three years of work and many, many hours where my wife and two children were pressed into service, all forced to sail with me on the ever changing seascape of a game development, with its ever changing rules as players looked for loopholes, which I then had to plug. The game I dreamed of finally came into reality as; "A Pirate's Demise / Curse of The Gator's Eye!" After its successful completion I set out to find an outlet to sell my game. Eventually the merchant who was selling my Pirate game was looking for a vendor to supply Shut the Boxes. I asked if I might give it a whirl and soon I had developed another product to sell. And quickly applied different themes to them adding even more games.
As time went on I found my family loved helping me create and play these games and soon one game led to another. We became closer and loved spending time together all because of my early desire to create the perfect Pirate Game. My children are grown, married and still love to come along on my adventures, though not quite so often as I would like.
We have sailed as pirates, searched underground caves for lost gold, flown into space through a giant wormhole, hunted deer from our own tree stands, hoping for a shot at the monster buck! We have recently been diving with sharks to recover sunken treasure, In the future we may compete in a fishing tournament, or maybe a little duck hunting. These worlds have been shared through my games.
These same adventures can be shared with you and yours, but only if you are willing to take the chance and the time to try one of our great original family friendly games! All have the quality appearance that usually seen as commercial board games, and yet are original and hand crafted. Items I cannot make are produced by custom mfg. in very small quantities.
The quest for the "Perfect Pirate Game" has been revived! With almost 10 years of experience behind me, and a wider array of resources, I have embarked on a renewed quest to update my first game with all the advances that have occurred since. The game has been retooled with more colorful graphics, with some small play improvments, and now has a more affordable editions With the added experience and a little finesse my quest to create the Perfect Pirate Game is now complete.
